I joined the ASKAR association as phyiotherapist to contribute to the paramedical needs of the project.
The demand of physiotherapy in the Palestinian refugee camps is considerable compared to their offer.This year I'm participating in this Humanitarian trip to offer some therapy to the local population and get a first overview on-the-spot (healthcare center in the refugee camp, getting an idea of their local hospitals...)
The mission is to establish a link in the long term between Europe and Palestina. A link that will help to develop a more regular intervention by European physiotherapists in the ASKAR refugee camp. I want the association to offer travel and work possibilities for the ones that are interested.
Although a first contact was made in August 2012 by Pierre Durrmann, a podoorthotist, loads of work is still ahead. I will let you know about the progress of this adventurous project!
