» » my first patient

Saturday, 2nd November 2013

After we met Naser -  the one being in charge of the consultations – lunchtime at the hotel, we’re off now to visit the old town in Naplouse. We’ll see our first patients tomorrow.

We roamed in the streets, lead by the smell of spices and freshly baked bread, starring at displays full of fruit and clothes, commemorative posters of martyr, little basements leaving space for a bakery or a butchery, a salesman selling kitchen tools or lamps.

We stopped for a chat after being called out by two men in a candy factory. One of them offers some candy – that’s how we met Abed. He’ll be our guide for the day.
We’re even invited for tea with his family in his workshop, then he shows us around ; a shop, a traditional soap factory, the Turkish baths where we have a little chat with the owner of the place. One of the clients at the Turkish baths has back pain, I just though physiotherapy !

It was a day full of surprises, exchanges, emotions and meeting new people. Can’t wait for the next 10 days.
